Staged supply of medicines
Staged Supply is the process by which a pharmacist supplies a medicine/s to a patient in periodic instalments of less than the total required or prescribed quantity at agreed intervals. A Staged Supply service is aimed at improving the safety and efficacy of medicine use in vulnerable patients. It is useful for patients with a mental illness, drug dependency or who are otherwise unable to manage their medicines safely. (source: basics fact sheet 6CPA).
